Hi.
I just want to know why and how make an article’s tittlein a category be clickable.
In the home page all the title are clickable but not when i go to a category!
http://www.joomlart.com/templates_demo.php?template=ja_avian
And an other question, in the menu there is small place, how can i do if i want more then 10 categories?
Thanks.

July 14, 2008 at 12:55 pm #259642I believe the solution to this is via the Magazine Menu.
You can activate for section/category ‘clickable headings’ so that the actual title of the article becomes the link to the article itself.
Open the Magazine Menu and click on the section/category you wish to modify.
On right hand side choose Parameters – Component:
Set ‘Title Linkable’ to ‘Yes’
Good luck

Chris</blockquote>Chris,
It is very tedious but it does work — you have to go through all Sections and Categories. In some of the sites that I will apply this to, there will be several hundreds of them.
In contrast, this is a one-step click in Joomla 1.0x-Teline II. By the way, this is a omission bug in Joomla 1.5x, it is still not corrected in Joomla 1.5.4, I think, I have to look more closely, I just did a few upgrades last night, well very well past midnight.
It would be a very simple script I am sure to bring this feature back to Joomla 1.5x.

July 14, 2008 at 2:18 pm #259657I agree. A ‘global’ set titles to links function would be extremely useful … and time-saving!!

July 14, 2008 at 2:25 pm #259659Chris,
By the way, in the same window — since you are Parameters – Component: already — go down further and there is the “Read more” option that can be disabled, if that is what the website developer wants.
Professional online papers, like New York Times, BBC News, Washington Post, etc. do not use “Read more”.
It is not only a waste of space, but it assumes the reader are too stupid.
Cornelio
N.B.
I will prepare the “instructions” text if you can help with the grab images. I do not have the tools for the latte to create nice and clear images..

And, that is exactly what is in Joomla 1.0x, it is one in the Global Configuration — so no problem in Joomla 1.0x-Teline II
Remember the power of numbers and it will be very cheap to hire someone to do the solution for us.:)
We can buy the Joomlart template cheap, and if they do not provide the technical support and the documentation, we hire people to do those what we cannot do ourselves.
We do not even have to limit ourselves to one template company — waiting for months and months for templates improvements.
As little as a dollar or even way down to 5 cents, depending on how many would join forces.

By the way, have you not got the ‘Grab’ application in your Utilities folder? I think this is another ScreenGrab utility which is standard with OSX?
Alternatively, go to your System Preferences, click on “Keyboard & Mouse” and setup keyboard shortcuts for the default Apple Screen Capture (this is the method I use):
If not, just let me know.
Best Wishes

As for the community, if it’s good for you, me and Cornelio then that’s good enough for me 😉
