I want to migrate an installation which have a test domain to a production domain customer .
What would be the correct steps to avoid mistakes .

I would suggest you use Akeeba Backup to create a full site backup. Then download the .jpa file it creates to your PC. Upload the .jpa file to the folder where you want your site to be on the production domain server together with a kickstart.php file. This is used to extract the .jpa file and can be downloaded from https://www.akeebabackup.com/.

You should probably read the Restore instructions on https://www.akeebabackup.com/ before going further. If all goes to plan your test site will be entirely duplicated on your new server. I have done it many times including Teline V sites.

Hi If you site is installed on same server and you only want to change the domain , in this case you only need to change the directory path of the Domain from cpanel . Apply the site directory to the Domain Name . You can also tell this to your host if you are not able to do this , they can change it easily for you .
If its on different server kindly apply suggestion by Tim above .
