Hi i have tried to assign another template to a page but it does not work, usually there is no issue with assigning different templates to different pages but it is not working when i have this template as the default.

does any one know why? is there some code in the template preventing this?

It should not be any code in the template that prevent it. Try again and clear your cache. Btw, do you have it live?
