I would like to use the Pyrite template on 50% of my website.
The other 50% I want to use a different Joomlart template. So, I therefore need to assign chosen menu items to a certain template.
The problem is that I get a message saying “Can’t assign chosen template” (see image attached).
Can anyone tell me how to get this working?

From the attachment image, i saw that param.ini was not writeable.
Please change permission this file and check again.December 18, 2008 at 9:47 am #283341<em>@JA Developer 95964 wrote:</em><blockquote>Hi ccmsab,

Unfortunately I still have the same problem. I would like to use the JA Vauxite template on 50% of the website and as you can see in the attached image, the menu assignment works as it should for this template.
I changed the params.ini file to CMOD 755 as you wanted me to test (see attached image) for the JA Pyrite template, but still the same error shows.
This is really an important feature for me to have on my website. I am therefore grateful for all help I can get.
Hope to hear from you soon

December 19, 2008 at 2:50 am #283430Hi ccmsab,
Current you set this template is default.
If this template is not default, you will see Assign template dropdown.December 19, 2008 at 11:28 am #283473Thanks a lot for this info!
My last questions before I can hit the “Thank you” button 100 times 😉 are the following:
The whole idea for me is to have two logotypes appearing on different menu itmes. This is my goal and this is the reason for me to have two templates. If I could solve it in some other way suing only one template – this would be the best.
Maybe I am addressing this problem in the wrong way. Please comment.
One way of solving this is to have two JA Pyrite templates installed (if it is possible), so that I can have different logos specified.
Hope to hear from you soon!

December 20, 2008 at 4:13 am #283546Hi ccmsab,
For simple, you can create two Ja Pyrite template, and use two logos.
December 20, 2008 at 1:23 pm #283607This I will do! 🙂
Can you give me some guidelines on how to add the JA Pyrite template a 2nd time? I guess I have to edit the template somewhere before installing it so that Joomla don’t recognise it as already present.

December 22, 2008 at 8:45 am #283761Hi ccmsab,
Please see my guide:
+ Copy this template and change the name of folder to other name. example: ja_pyrite_2
+ In the ja_pyrite_2 folder , open templateDetails.xml file, find following script:
<name>JA_Pyrite</name>
and change to:
<name>JA_Pyrite_2</name>
And then zip this folder.
+ In Administrator , go to Extensions -> Install/ Uninstall to install this template again.
Hope it helps.
