How do I assign a particular layout to a section or category?

Hi groove !
I think that you have a mistaske. I can explain detail layout below :
– If a page have Layout is “content + left” –> all module right is disable in that page.
– If a page have Layout is “content + right” –> all module right is disable in that page.
layouts created so assign modules for page . Please go to admin >> extensions >> module manager >> select a left module –> at the bottom of module page , there is box to assign module display in each page.

I am having the same issue. I cannot change the default layout for any menu item or “page”. I want content + left. I keep getting the base layout for each page I setup.

The answer above does not directly address the issue. Each template from JA comes with like 5 different layouts — how do you use them?
