I posted a similar issue more than two weeks ago, but it was more on the Joomla 1.5 version of Teline IV.

Teline IV Joomla 1.6 is missing the following features:

1. The automated inclusion of newly created categories to the Magazine menu.
2. The need for a “leap frog mechanism to allow rapid rearrangements of categories and subcategories.
3. Upon, creation of a category, and automated inclusion in the Magazine menu, there is a need also for the algorithm to assign a defaul “root category” and subcategories theme layout. Unless I am missing something, you literally have to create the layout with a new category created.

Even the preinstalled categories, like FAQs, About Joomla, etc. and their subcategories do not show, even if published.

There are more issues I encountered, but the above are very critical for a newsmagazine site with literally hundreds of categories and subcategories.

The jazin plugin should do the trick but to my knowledge, there is no Joomla 1.6 version yet. Moreover, I encountered the same problem with the Joomla 1.5. I installed the the jazin.plg in a Teline IV Joomla 1.5, and it did so many weird things, including create a duplicate magazine menu, and a “FrontPage” module.

Also, I tried the clone/copy of an existing parent category, but it did not seem to work properly. This might be a different issue altogether.
