The JAMagz template shows a generic avatar bitmap in the Articles – latest module on the front of my site at http://www.displaydaily.com.

How can I display an image of the author instead of the bitmap?

In this case you have to add new avatar into Component > Contacts > Contacts and select the user needs to add, see the screenshot

Apologies for this late response, somehow I missed to check my pm. I’m afraid you will have to change from JOOMLA core if you want to change the avatar from article of joomla site, but you can use Avatar Builder for Joomla 3.2. Try it out and let me know whether this is working for you. http://avatarbuilder.technoscore.net/
