I have just added a few more galleries and a few hundred more images. I now have 5023 images in 43 galleries and I have a problem.
The “manage galleries” freezes every time I try and open this menu option. The WEBHOST can’t find the problem, they are still investigating.
It happened as soon as I added 4 galleries & 500 images.
I already experience performance issues when there are a few users on the site …… now this problem !!!!! is this solution scalable? do other have success with a larger image DB.
If this size is the practical limit, I need to find a new site solution.
please help.
regards don

July 25, 2008 at 2:44 am #262127Hi
that is very strange :(, I checked your site and don’t understand why
What did you do ?July 25, 2008 at 2:51 am #262129I made no changes except adding images and galleries. It started to get slower then it hung sometimes then it hung always.
Did you find anything?

July 25, 2008 at 2:59 am #262132Did you have back up at localhost ?
July 25, 2008 at 4:05 am #262152not sure what you mean? ….. I don’t have a backup of the site … I assume that the WEBhost provider will backup the entire system in the event of a system failure.
I only have a productive site, no dev/test or backup site.

July 25, 2008 at 4:27 am #262165I can see trhat I need a test environment ….
do you have any other clients with over 5000 images and more that 40 galleries? ….. is there a size setting or limit somewhere? ….. because it just got slow then stopped for no other reason…

July 25, 2008 at 12:25 pm #262278:confused:
Ok found the BUG and I can re-create it every time.
On the home page of the back-end configuration screen, if I change the display # to 50 I get the above described problem. If I change it back to 30 … everything work fine.
nguoiabcd, that should make it easier for you to find the coding error.
thanks don
