    Hi,

Continuing with my site optimization, I stumbled upon the AlphaImageLoader filter, used in fancybox.
This approach is recommended to be avoided by many SEO TOOLS.
Is there anything we can do in order to avoid it, or work around this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I “resolved” the problem with the following approach:
I modified the file /components/com_virtuemart/assets/css/jquery.fancybox-1.3.4.css and removed all the AlphaImageLoader filter blocks, from lines 325 and bellow. They all have to do with older versions of ie and in my case, they are totally useless, since I use so much new technology, that the site would never work to such old versions.
Next step is to install an extension to notify the visitor that they need to upgrade their browser’s version.

    The result:
    Previous YSlow score: E
    New YSlow score: A

It sure was worth the effort. (OK, I did some other things as well, like resizing the slideshow images to width 1000px (not the proposed 1200px by the template design) and upload them again. Decreasing the number of scaled down pictures by HTML, helped a lot. If you are interested in knowing all I did, I could upload a quick guide.) In my opinion JA Hawstore is by far the best e-shop template by Joomlart, yet. My complements to the design and development team. However, tweaking these few things made it perfect. And I see the results immediately, in performance, user experience and SEO.

    Hi Saguaros,

Are you talking about the optimization guide, or just the solution to AlphaImageLoader? And How do I create a tip thread?

    Thank you.
