We have a customer that chose the JA Quartz template, and are trying to use VirtueMart with it as well. Only big hurdle that we’re coming up against is the customer doesn’t want to see the grandchild elements from the main menu.

So, our top menu has child menu items that basically show our Categories.

This site is for an artist, so the main menu from left to right might say:
Home | Gallery | Artist Info | Events | Contact

    …the above reflects the Sections.

Under Gallery, we have several lower level grandchild elements that reflect the Categories like:
    Sculptures
    Paintings
    Jewelry
    Charms

Now, we have say 15 articles that tie to Scupltures, 20 articles that tie to Paintings, and 10 articles that tie to Jewelry. The site owner doesn’t want these grandchildren flyout menus to show though.

Basically, we have to currently publish articles, tie the module to these articles, then un-publish the articles to get the flyout menus to stop. Only bad things is that if you have everything up to now good, then go into the module and assign a class to the menu or module itself, then database call then hides the module because now it see the articles are un-published and hides all the module work you’ve done.

We’ve had to use URL menu item types to get around all this.

Any ideas are welcome? Do we use a different main menu module?

I’ve done a site some where you can define the articles at a single level lower, but it’s only a parent -child relation, not a parent to child to grandchild relation. This “main” menu was a slider menu from YooTheme, and when you define the articles that go to each of these main menu items, it send the “child” menu items into an accordion menu. Works great for this “other” site.

    Thanks!
