January 16, 2009 at 8:45 am #137168I have jtrona website http://www.ozmosaics.com/mood in development.
I added CB 1.2RC4 component today and it uploaded without any hassles.Somehow I stuffed up the log-ins/menu/s as now I can’t access the backend of the site
joomla 1.5.8. I can access the home page ok.The user name and password are rejected as not matching in the back end. I am exhausted trying to work out what to do.
Can anyone help me with this problem – I would be so grateful. Thanks
Sandy

January 16, 2009 at 8:50 am #286761have you tried going to the frontend and clicking on the ‘Forgot Your Password,” link.
If this is a Joomla install on your local server, that may not work. You would have had to set up your SMTP settings or PHP mail settings too for this to work.
However, if that doesn’t work – try the following link:

January 16, 2009 at 11:24 am #286778Thank you for your responses. I tried to edit the passwork in the control panel admin, but no luck re jos_user edit…..
Somehow I think the CB login and the Joomla Log-in are competing? I had it all working and then tried to change a menu and think I might have tried to add two cb login links in a menu?
Also, today I had the google home page updated and now at the backend log-in area it is displaying a new message “log in with an open id”…I have not seen that before….
Anyway, I am still trying to think of a solution to getting into the back end….
It’s very frustrating but obviously I did something stupid. I was so excited to be getting somewhere… .http://www.ozmosaics.com/mood looks like I have to start again?
cheers

January 17, 2009 at 12:18 am #286862Gave up, spent all night wasting time sorting it out – third time should be lucky! Actually, what took me a week to learn and do before took just a couple of hours to reinstall, upload CB, other programs and it’s going to be better.
I am backing up more now, and learning so much. Thanks to those who gave advice – I really appreciated your help. Somehow something weird got into the passwords, the screen was showing a different type of login display for the backend – I am thinking some form of google or m/soft update yesterday might have been involved, but too hard to be sure.
Anyway, I now have Ja Trona on 1.5.9 so that’s good and CB is going great. I know it’s very important now to be very careful with the login modules when installing CB. Live and learn!
I am now as a kid in a lolly shop, trying to work out the best forum to instal for an art studio, it’s got to be friendly, colourful and have pics and conversation and chat etc. I like the ones showcased on CB – I would love to know what others use for their forum. I love the forum layout JA uses – love the thank you’s etc – but it looks too complicated to work out on the vb credit dowload…but I might work it out yet! Does anyone here have experience with installing VBcredit system or know of another similar for Joomla? I am still looking….but a bit scared of it all to jump in….but back-up, back-up, back-up.
No resting here!
Cheers

January 17, 2009 at 7:06 am #286889G’day Sandy DownUnder, you should definitely check out all the f.a.questions etc. on the CB Homepage to avoid that any problems come up again and also to learn more about how to configure CB like you want, e.g. how to set up a Private Messaging System, which is quite easy.

January 17, 2009 at 11:58 am #286905Thank you for taking the time to list the links! Spent the day installing Cb and it’s just great now! It’s a big learning curve – as the Great Steve Irwin used to say, Crikey Mate! It’s Great! LOL! I am on a roll now, and exploring new ins and outs….I don’t think I could go through reinstalling for a third time, so now I am queen of the back-ups! Every time I install a module or whatever, my knees wobble with fear and then it’s so exciting when it all works out. So much out there, so many good people prepared to help, I hope one day I can offer something back.
As I mosaicartist I hope to fill my site to the brim with colour and lots of exciting things …..I worked on a huge mural for Australia Zoo and need to showcase hundreds of photos and videos and put all the questionairres and feeback from over 300 people on line to share! I am not worried about the input of the data, just trying to find a wonderful presentation for it. I hope to share it soon>
Cheers and thank you again<

January 17, 2009 at 6:27 pm #286914Great to hear that all works out now, and that you really got still got that excitement and do not get the more usual hesitation that than leads to routine feelings, you definitely gotta keep that.
I am also always excited to see and hear about some non-cellphone, non-cars, non-gaming site like yours. I think the internet is more exciting for those things that one either does not see anyday outside, and cars and stuff one sees any day when outside, and cellphones and all that electronics stuff…I think this to put on the internet than again, as it is same as the internet something digital and electrical is often too much of the good stuff..or stuff that is too far away to probably ever see it….;) I rather like sites about all the things in life that are special and not something I can see or buy anytime I want when I take a walk or go shopping in the next mall. This is what made internet special some time ago and I also think this keeps it special…As, hey, when can I look at all the things you put up on your website when there would be no internet, probably never. A cellphone I could look anywhere…Hope you will enjoy the work on your site also when you have completed it, some people really forget the work when they once finished, as they got bored and later their sites are all outdated with last posts like a few years ago… Would also be nice to hear from, you as soon, when the site is finished so I can take a look at it than….when it is ready.:)Much fun until then!

January 17, 2009 at 10:54 pm #286929Thank you for the boost of support! You won’t believe this, I was all happy and thinking, I can now get somewhere, and I am once more having problems logging in to the back end.
I know the passwords etc but the system accepts the name and password and then just “sits there” won’t move to the backend folders etc.I am going to post over as you suggested on CB and see if anyone cal guide me. Somehow I am doing something to stop access. On the site itself http://www.ozmosaics.com/artist it won’t allow login to proceed after entering details etc. It must be something to do with a login module……I am trying to keep sane! But it’s not going to be fun today, I think..

January 17, 2009 at 11:33 pm #286933First of all, do you have your stuff already on http://www.zazzle.com in form of prints on shirts and all that. It would be the perfect thing for you to put all your designs up digitally too… When you check out the site once, you will see, it is a perfect place for such art, as a lot of people also like stuff like yours made digital and printed on all kinds of goods…
Otherwise, I can believe what you say, as why should you play… But I also installed CB on one of my sites some time ago and none of those problems came up. I use the CB login on this site but nevertheless this should not be the problem. I also have a fireboard synced with the CB, a VM Bridge installed and some more stuff and never had any login issues. Have you tried other templates? Somehow this could be due to the template but it would be strange. I use it with a heaviely modified verision of JA Rochea, and there are no problems. I also do not understand why this issue comes up, as all one could think there is a problem with the joomla installation you use. Have you tried to use a version from the joomla homepage, if it works with that then? Also when this would be no solution, you would know that something is wrong with the quickstart from Joomlart.com…
Maybe try this too with another installation in another folder of the site and when it is that problem you probably should submit a support ticket to Joomlart and let them check it through,
Let’s see, hope you get some answers from CB soon or try it this way…;)
As to Zazzle, maybe take some time out, build an own Zazzle store site online and check back with CB on Sunday or Monday…

January 17, 2009 at 11:41 pm #286934Mike, thank you again for the advice about the zazzle, we plan to raise money for Koala and Starlight Children with the art from the mosaic murals in the community, if I can ever get my site working!
I am absorbing what you wrote, need a cup of tea and get over the tears I feel am about to come! Its just tiredness I think and frustration. But, I will have another go.
I did u the JA Trona quickstart, but I think it’s something to do with the login, if only I could get in the backend and adjust CB there…I feel the front page area, is missing the login button, ie it says, enter the name, password but it doesn’t seem to progress from there on the screen, it keeps asking to loginor register…
hmmmm….
Thank you, you boost my moral!

January 18, 2009 at 1:22 am #286937Thank you, but I am not Mike…or do you mean someone else, like “MiCCAS” but that is also not me..:D. Anyway, that is no problem at all, but my name is really not Mike….:)
With the problems I do not know, I, mostly, can only bring out the stuff I also had problems with or seem to be logic. When now other parts are missing, seems strange, I would try some completely different template and see if it is really an issue with the template. Otherwise, sometimes things disappear on the frontend when the file access permissions are not set low enough to allow the users including you to see the stuff. Meaning the stuff does now show up because the permissions do not allow, I think you know what I mean. You really have to figure out what the problems are and when you know it you can fix them. When you cannot achieve anything really submit a support ticket to Joomlart….
Hope you will get it done soon Cindy, aeh, Sandy…;)
