I hope this will be relevant, I have come across someones linking formula as far as a natural distribution of BL goes, its the 60/30/10 rule. It pertains to anchor text BL. This is relatively recent so…
→ 60% of your links should have “porch swings for sale” as the link text.
→ 30% should contain something else (perhaps “wooden porch swings for sale”)
→ 10% should contain something else (maybe the site url, domain name, etc.)But you know I believe as time goes on big G’s algorithms will become more self learning and self adjusting. (self aware? rise of the machines?), seriously though, Matt Cutts has always preached “natural link building” which I believe is the way to go. On the same side of the coin how can one explain rankings of a website that gets say, 100 000 within a few days because of a news event for example? Is big G able to discern the forensics beyond the “backlink” and to what scope and quality.
In other words we have people (the ones who do not do this well are obvious nuisance spammers on a grand scale), who use software to automatically post to thousands of forums a day, and can this kind of link building be identified and understood by Google algorithms? And to what extent and to what effect?
I think ultimately its a matter of smart seo (sticking to the topic of link seo) natural distribution of relevant links over time from “good neighborhood” sites, and even better, have fresh interesting content that gets your content(links) distributed over the net ‘by other people’!
Twitter, facebook, a good blog with “addtoany” button, rss feeds used strategically could do wonders for good content and thus your backlink value! And not to mention analyzing your competitions links for your keywords can go a long for optimizing linking campaigns.
Just my two cents. Hope my post offers value to people.June 29, 2010 at 10:19 pm #348435And don’t forget to bookmark your bookmarks and ping them afterwards. In other words, first bookmark your website page on Digg, then go to another bookmarking website like e.g. jumptags and bookmark your Digg bookmark. Then go to pingler or ping-o-matic to ping your bookmarks. This is very powerful to get indexed fast! And rather bookmark the pages of your website, not the main url.
July 1, 2010 at 3:54 pm #348685The best way to get good backlinks to a website is to have an exact match domain with relative information and fresh content. Adding fresh content will allow it to be constantly crawled by the bots and re-indexed. Use proper keywords and sound natural in your writing style.

acid reflux | GERDJuly 4, 2010 at 12:21 am #348875Acquiring good back-links is a lot of work. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t rewarding, however. The best thing about acquiring back-links vs. advertising a site is that back-links generally stay. They don’t go away. You don’t have to pay for them, except for the labor involved.

Although higher PR is of course better, and also it helps if it’s a ‘do-follow’ link. If you’re not sure whether a link is dofollow, you can install a free add-on to FireFox, it’s called no-do-follow or similar.
August 15, 2010 at 9:31 pm #352723Great tip. I downloaded this add-on. It will let you know if a link is do-follow or no-follow. If the link is no-follow, the link will be highlighted in pink. If it is a do-follow link, it will be highlighted in blue. Of course, the do-follow switch must be toggled on. This is performed by right-clicking on the page with the link in question, and selecting “do-follow” from the drop down menu.
On a side note, there are many SEO Marketers that believe that no-follow offers the same link juice from Google as the do-follow links. The only difference being that no-follow links do not increase “PageRank”. Of course, pagerank is a older Google metric that doesn’t really have anything to do with traffic, or the money made from said traffic.

August 19, 2010 at 4:54 pm #353183My favorite social media tool is ping.fm. I used ping.fm to create 20-30 social media micro-blogs, blogs, and user profiles for some of the top social media websites. Then i create a few micro-blog posts every week, and us the blog submission tool to submit longer blog posts. Here is an example of one of them… vox is by far my favorite: Automotive SEO

I usualy use auto tools like xrumer or othersAugust 25, 2010 at 10:59 am #353654Ive read and seen about this subject so much that I convinced there’s a plot afoot to keep us all in the dark when it comes building. How be too hard too much? How soon is too soon? How relevant is relevant. Page 0-10 Rank all adds to the confusion. If I did not know any better id say SEO to deliberately trying to keep it that way is a group of conspiracy. (But I do not know better), just use common sense and a little patience and efforts would be beneficial to you to decide on their online link building strategy.

August 28, 2010 at 4:41 am #353930I downloaded this extension. You will know if a link is to follow or not follow. If the link is not followed, the link will be pink. If this is a do-follow link will be highlighted in blue. Of course, follow-switch must be activated. This is done by right clicking on the page with the link in question, and the selection of “no track” in the dropdown menu.

October 1, 2010 at 5:21 am #357272Hey there! My website blog for just over 1 month and 3 received a GooglePageRank recent update today! High-PR links back to your site, the core of the forums should backlink, all social networks like Facebook to Twitter to broaden its audience on an account and get your website at the end there! Per day at least 5 directory submission means, either independently or with a mutual blog a few comments.
If you do this, you have succeeded and it’s just to manage your time wisely in order to collect optimal results
October 2, 2010 at 12:07 pm #357469I think Google definitely some weight to a link is followed. If you post a site for all to follow, it may seem unnatural to Google. Nothing, just making things more natural, after follow the link.If nothing else, authority sites have followed … If these authority sites, a link to a site I think this place a site and Google is certainly a vote of confidence for the site will give some weight, not a single post are followed.
October 18, 2010 at 7:12 am #359364Here are some Link building strategies that can be used:
# Submit your site to Web Directories.
# Submit Press Releases to PR sites
# Reciprocal Links with Similar Websites.
# Create Squidoo Lenses
# Article Submissions
# Create Social Media Profiles
# Social Bookmarking
# Create a Tool, Theme or Widget
# Comment on Other Blogs
# Guest posting on other blogsThis list is by no means comprehensive but are just some of the off-site methods I use to build links for very new websites.
