July 2, 2010 at 7:27 am #152230Hello All,
I have a problem with ‘Back to Top’ tag. It doesn’t work properly if the option ‘Search Engine Friendly URL’ is activated. What happens is that when you click ‘back to top’ the url which is created is incorrect and a 404 error message appears. How can I solve it? Because I need the ‘search engine friendly URL’ to be activated.
Thanks in advance.uniquebiz Frienduniquebiz

July 2, 2010 at 9:13 am #348805Hi Rosa
please let me know the following, or if some of the options have not been completed complete them
What sef are you using, artiosef or Joomla built in sef, if built in SEF have you enabled the Apache mod rewrite and changed the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess as it requires? have you enabled the add suffix to URLs, in general if you use the built in SEF the whole three options should be ticked and the htaccess.txt file changed if you are NOT on a windows server .Also it’s always good to include your live site URL so we can check the code and operation of the site

July 2, 2010 at 1:57 pm #348829Hello uniquebiz,
First of all, thanks for your answer.
The web is still in a test version, so that, I can’t include the URL.
The option ‘add sufix to URL’ is activated, but the ‘apache mod_rewrite’ is not activated. And I wouldn’t want to activate this one. I haven’t changed the htaccess.txt file because I think (correct me if i am wrong) is not necessary if the mod_rewrite option is not activate.
I’ll wait for you answer…

July 3, 2010 at 1:55 am #348844that may be true however I probably meant for you to change and test for me to eliminate that may be the need to get it working, I always enable all just as a necessity to avoid any problems

July 5, 2010 at 11:16 am #348990I have activated the ‘Use Apache mod_Rewrite’ option and then the ‘back to top’ works correctly.
But, I want this option desactivated. How can I solve the problem?
Thanks in advance

July 6, 2010 at 4:06 am #349060can you explain why this option must be off, if it solves the problemand is generally considered necessary on a linux server
Your site, your choice but if you have the solution and refuse to use it, sorry don’t make sense or worth pursuingrosa Friendrosa

July 6, 2010 at 11:27 am #349129Hello,
I work locally with windows and the server is linux, so, I prefer not to activate this option. But If it is the only way to solve the problem, I will activate this option. No problem.
Thanks uniquebiz -
