I’ve installed ja_social but I cant figure out why the backend/css does not seem to display correctly.

How you installed it ?

You are using Ja_Social template for Joomla 2.5 on a Joomla 3.0.3 version

Reinstall it again using the quickstart and update only the Joomla version to the 2.5.11 release and not to the 3.0
