hello,
I have a background image added 4 px height 600px wide

[PHP]Body#bd {
background : url(my_url/background.png); background-repeat:repeat-x;
color: #333;
font-size: 12px; /* Base Font */
line-height: 1.5;[/PHP]

also

[PHP]#ja-header {
background:white;
}[/PHP]

how can I achieve that the background is displayed only on the left and right?
in the middle should be all white.

Please update your site URL. Actually you can’t apply just for left / right only. It will effect on whole page. But for “middile” we’ll override by another color.
