How can I setup my homepage exactly like the demo site is setup, with the banner placed on the left side?

Your logo appears to be positioned at a point that is extending past (to the left) of the main site alignment …. though aligned with the green “Bistro Restaurant” banner graphic halfway down. Is this the effect you wanted? (Just making sure).
September 15, 2011 at 6:30 am #412783I would like to align my Left Banner as attached, experiencing similar problems as well.
Changing the CSS code does not seem to have effect.Kindly assist me please?

September 17, 2011 at 8:22 am #413219You replace your Custom Output of Left Banner to
<p><a class="left-banner" href="#" title="Banner"> </a></p>
You change this css from /templates/ja_bistro/css/template.css
a.left-banner {
background: url('/bistro15/templates/ja_bistro/images/left-banner.png') no-repeat left top;
width: 220px;
height: 447px;
overflow: hidden;
text-indent: -999em;
display: block;
margin-left: -40px;
margin-top: -45px;

Where on the back end do I find that Bistro Restaurant banner? I am about to lose my mind trying to find it. I love the way it looks, but I want to change what it says.
Thanks!

Module is Left BannerNovember 6, 2011 at 1:38 pm #423423I am working with Joomla 1.7. I have looked a dozen or more times through everything. The left banner module is set to hide and nothing at all is in it. It’s completely empty, so I’m can’t imagine it is what is showing up on my page. When I change left banner to show, it takes the ribbon away and just puts the words “Left banner” in it’s place. I changed it back to hide and now the ribbon and the words “left banner” are all gone. Bummer.
I’m at a complete loss as to how to get it to change when I can’t find it. I’m guessing that it’s buried in the code somewhere.
And of course, now it’s gone and I don’t know how to get it back.
I really appreciate your help so much!

November 6, 2011 at 2:40 pm #423427Because TinyMCE clear not WYSIWYG code, so you got empty when you see left banner module.
You can go to Global Configuration and set the Default Editor to “Editor – None” to see and edit code.
After that, you edit left banner module, set custom Html is
<a class="left-banner" href="#" title="Banner"> </a>
November 9, 2011 at 12:58 am #423747Great! That got the ribbon back! I had a bit of panic when it went away!
Now, how do I change what it says? Or how do I change the little chef guy to a different clip art if I want to?
I don’t see anywhere to change the text or the picture. Is that buried in code somewhere else?Thank You So Much! You are so very helpful!!
