June 13, 2008 at 6:13 am #129640Hi Everyone
I’ve now got the demo site up and running under 1.5.3 Joomla.
I’ve just created two new clients, two banners for these clients and a banner category which is now published.
Everything looks fine and the banners appear no problem (in the existing “banners” module at the bottom of the page).
However, clicking on the banners has no result. For the test, I pointed them to our own domain, but ‘clicking’ does not open a new window, nothing? Also, ‘clicking’ doesn’t show up in the Admin CP for that banner as having been clicked (count stays at 0).
Any ideas please?
Below are 3 screen grabs. First is what is shown in Firefox when I mouseover the banner, second is my banner setup in Admin CP, third is the banner as it appears on screen.
I hope somebody can help!
Thanks

Tried that, saved and refreshed site in Firefox, no difference!<em>@Menalto 58839 wrote:</em><blockquote>

Site is currently under construction here:
http://www.joomla.questbg.com/Now for the very strange thing, the banner and link work fine in Safari, but not in Firefox
I ran the ‘Error Console’ in Firefox and got the following when I clicked on the banner:
“Error: return not in function
Source File: javascript:void window.open(‘/index.php?option=com_banners&task=click&bid=10’, ”, ‘toolbar=no,location=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=780,height=550’); return false
Line: 1, Column: 170
Source Code:
void window.open(‘/index.php?option=com_banners&task=click&bid=10’, ”, ‘toolbar=no,location=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=780,height=550’); return false”Any assistance would be most appreciated!
Many Thanks

June 14, 2008 at 4:58 am #253531Here’s a strange thing. I’ve narrowed this down a bit.
If I create the banner, set to “New Window without Browser Navigation”, then it doesn’t work in Firefox. No amount of clicking will get the link to become active!
However, if I create the banner set to “New Window with Browser Navigation”, then this works fine in Safari and Firefox.
So, for the moment, I have a workaround, however, I now believe this is a Bug that needs fixing.
Please could a Mod try this with the Teline II Demo site and see if the same thing happens.
