June 2, 2012 at 3:46 am #177761Hi,
My JA Ores site has the build in blog, which is fine.
I would like to have a similar section on my site, whereby galleries are put up on a regular basis, similar to a blog, but are image-heavy. For example, I may post a paragraph showing the introduction to a gallery, and then when someone clicks on the gallery, they see the entire gallery.
My issue is that my current “gallery” (or showcase) looks an awful lot like my blog. I had to do it this way because I cannot show the entire showcase gallery in the category page as the images would take up way too much real estate. See http://www.hattrickconsulting.ca/m2concrete.com/index.php/showcase for an example of what I mean. I could only show a summary of the gallery (text only) as there was no practical way to show an image with it.
What I would like is a component whereby I can add “galleries” (blog entry with many images) and have a summary version show on the blog page, and then when I click on a link, the detailed page with all of the images is loaded. Right now I am using the same setup as the blog page, and it is not working.
Is there a component which can show a summary of the gallery in the listings page (say just one image on the left), and then when I click on the item, I get the detailed page with all of the images?
Comments/approach appreciated.

June 3, 2012 at 9:56 pm #455759Update:
I’ve experimented a bit with the JA Showcase module on my JA Ores 2.5 template. Out of box, the layout of the showcase is not ideal as there seem to be many styling issues. Moreover, When accessing my page that has the showcase implemented, the top of the page becomes two lines instead of one.
Maybe I’m missing something here. Are there other settings which need to be applied, or do I need to create my own style for the component in order to have it fit with the template? Ideally, I’d like my showcase to look very similar to the one at http://www.joomlart.com/joomla/templates/showcase . Is this possible using the version of JA Showcase available on Joomlart, in conjunction with the JA Ores 2.5 template? If so, can anyone please point me to the documentation?
Thanks.

June 8, 2012 at 4:35 am #456604Hi there,
Showcase on JA Ores template is not JA Showcase component.
JA Showcase is used in the demo site of JA Portfolio template http://joomla25-templates.joomlart.com/ja_portfolio/ja-showcase.html
It is part of JAEC club and requires extension club membership for download.
