I have several videos I would like to show on various pages of the site. These videos would be hosted on my server. What is the best JA Extension to use, and how would I configure. I am thinking of using the Highslide extension, but the only video it seems to support directly is flash. What if I want to use wmv, mpeg4, avi, etc?
And thanks for all the great support on this forum!!

Thanks for your reply. I have seen the AVR extention, but it looked pretty complicated. Does it load in as a component, module, plugin.. and how would you, for example, insert a video into a module using it?
Thanks again,
Frank

I just went back to the AVR site and took the time to really look through the docs, loaded all the uploads and wow. You were absolutely right – this is what I was looking for. I do still get one error when I click on the AVR media button the dialog box comes up correctly (and I can add remote media) – the the error message says:
JFolder:: files:Path is not a folderI added the audio folder and video folder to the /stories/images path as required in the docs – but did so by directly editing on my server. Should I have used the Joomla media manager instead?
In any event, thanks for your help!
Frank

June 2, 2009 at 2:10 pm #306526Sounds like you might be just missing an “/” at the end of your path. Could be as simple as that, but can’t really tell without looking at the site directly. Got a URL you can pass along?
John.

Great point, I will look at that, in the mean time – I’ll send you a PM with the site. It’s not public yet, so I’d rather not post just now (protect the innocent or something like that….)
Thanks again,
Frank
