May 17, 2009 at 10:59 pm #141260The biggest pluspoint right now, I see in the fact that the new templates like JA Topaz work out of the box with any of the new IEs like IE7 and IE8. The old problems of needing IE fixes even for version 7 are not more present, where the forums were flooded with bug fix requests for IE7 some months ago.
The new ones work perfectly under IE8 and IE7 and surely also in the open source browsers like Chrome and Firefox.
The point is that this is by far the most basic issue, that Joomlart.com has taken the time to make their templates fit for the IE8 changes where also the previously known errors in IE7 are not more present too.
This saves a lot of time, one should not have to do when it comes to paid products like those, so good job. (I have not tested any new template of other Joomla Clubs, but in this case, this does not matter anyway.)
Thanks!

JM —->
Please do not release too many of those Joomla <—> Magento Products, the new JM Topaz is not looking like a 100% thought through Magento theme, it misses a lot of attention on the fine things needed to make it a good one. I use JA Topaz but had to customize and also wanted to customize it to make it look unique, e.g. the right column, like it is in the original Topaz is not a good match to the rest of the template design, so this is what is also one point not making JM Topaz to a top notch template, sharing the complete fast-done-looking design attributes like the basic JA Topaz presents.
JM Tube is also missing a lot of fine tuning. it looks left alone simply said, left alone for a good designer to complete it. Like it is originally, I would also say, it is not a real good job from Joomlart.com. The case and problem is, a Joomla template is not same as a Magento theme, so both product lines should go seperated from each other in the future, or there will not be any real smart history of design releases to look back to.
For the sake of design lovers, DO NOT release another one of those, PLEASE DO NOT release a JM Mica, unless you make it something interesting, but from what one can see in the JA Mica, with T-Shirts and stuff, there may be a JM Mica…
Earlier on, you mentioned that to make a photo sales theme for Magento is a good idea, but sorry, you only release those dual themes right now. Time to make some Magento Quality Work from now!
Sorry, but also critics need to be mentioned. Try to keep up the good work!

May 19, 2009 at 10:04 am #305065Hi Wooohanetworks,
1. Thank you very much for your feedback about the IE Browser compatibility issues
2. About the JM design.
Developing a Magento template from a Joomla based template can have both Pros & Cons:
Pros:
– Most of the web designer need both a CMS + Shopping cart for his system, and if he is using JM Topaz for the CMS sectio, he will not hesitate using JM Topaz for the shopping section. (Of cause he may will some integration+customization)– There have been many requests if we can convert some of the best Joomla design (like JA Teline II, JA Vauxite…) into WordPress or other CMS. Now JA officially offer Magento templates, the similar requests from Magento users can be even higher & stronger. We did take this into our decision.
– Using the same design can save our designers some free time to work on the next concept.
– Using Joomla based concept does not mean we can not offer high quality Magento templates. If you have no information about JA Topaz, do you feel disappointed about JM Topaz?
Cons:
– It’s be boring when we can know how the next JM templates will look like. Ok, Wooohanetworks. I can know you feeling and this can be the reason why you brought up the issuesI would also like to address your concerns as follows:
JM Tube is also missing a lot of fine tuning. it looks left alone simply said, left alone for a good designer to complete it. Like it is originally, I would also say, it is not a real good job from Joomlart.com. The case and problem is, a Joomla template is not same as a Magento theme, so both product lines should go seperated from each other in the future, or there will not be any real smart history of design releases to look back to.
Again, this is just another personal feeling. There are people who like JM Tube than JM Topaz (which I guess you prefer)
For the sake of design lovers, DO NOT release another one of those, PLEASE DO NOT release a JM Mica, unless you make it something interesting, but from what one can see in the JA Mica, with T-Shirts and stuff, there may be a JM Mica…
We may not plan to release JM Mica, however, the decision of releasing or not depending how good the concept of JM Mica the designer bring to the table.
Earlier on, you mentioned that to make a photo sales theme for Magento is a good idea, but sorry, you only release those dual themes right now. Time to make some Magento Quality Work from now!
Yes. we mentioned & we put into action. The JA Sulfur is our effort, first for Joomla & then for Magento
If there are many users here against the release of JM Sulfur, then JA Team will be here to listen & follow users requests.
