December 19, 2012 at 10:34 pm #183273Hi all,
I am using SIG Pro on my site (JA travel template).
Unfortunately the pictures don’t show/appear in my thumbnail, but they do show when I click on it.I did some research and encountered this solution:
“The problem is that you have a high-security .htaccess file in place which blocks public access to /cache as it should. You’ll need to have your developer fix their script/template to store content (thumbnails in your case) in a valid publicly accessible location or modify your .htaccess file to allow public access to /cache, or switch to a stock Joomla .htaccess file instead of the Rochen high-security one, thanks.”
My question: can anyone let me know what I have to adjust in the template or in my .htaccess file?
Best regards,

December 20, 2012 at 11:13 am #476927Hello,
Regarding to your question,
<blockquote>You’ll need to have your developer fix their script/template to store content (thumbnails in your case) in a valid publicly accessible location or modify your .htaccess file to allow public access to /cache</blockquote>You should ask SIG Pro to change store content of thumbnail, not the template. Template doesn’t relate to the setting of store content.
I think you should adjust in my .htaccess file allow public access to /cache, cause there’s a lot of thing is store in this folder.

December 21, 2012 at 9:41 am #477063Thanks Luna Garden.
Since I am not familiar with .htaccess files: is there a simple code I can just copy there, couldn’t find it on Google.Something like “Allow /Cache”.
Does anyone has the exact code for me?
Can I just paste it at the end of the file? Thanks!

December 21, 2012 at 8:13 pm #477113I have contacted my hosting company and they answered the following:
“……………………..
That wouldn’t be blocked by default, but if you’re using our high-security Joomla .htaccess files, yes, it would be blocked. Your cache directory should never be publically accessible for security reasons. We won’t be able to provide .htaccess directive assistance, you’ll need to consult with your developer on that if you have custom requirements for your site/script. Alternately you could use a stock Joomla .htaccess file instead and remove the cache directory .htaccess file, but that would not be recommended for security reasons……………………….
…………………………………………………”Appearantly the standard Joomla .htaccess file DOES give access to the Cache folder, but the ‘high security’ .htaccess file doesn’t.
What are your opinions about giving public access to this folder?
Thanks!
