    Similarities are one thing . . . passing JA product off as their own is quite another.

    I came across it entirely by accident. I have made it a somewhat frequent habit (these days) to check the VM site and Extension listing to see if anything new and/or cool has popped up. The JD stuff was new on the list – so, naturally, I checked it out. Imagine my surprise when I came across that template – especially considering that the site I have been working on is based on JA-Zeolite.

    We should all keep a sharp eye out for things like this . . . you never know when someone might try to do it to YOU.

    That was a great spot, i feel it may not be possible for now to stop the piracy of templates, but acts like these goes way far from stealing and should be taken up vigorously.
    The guys din even take the pain to modfiy the outlay or even search for JA or Zeolite branding in the text.

    Did you get to see for how much they were selling this template?

    http://www.joomladump.com uses Ja Olivine for its site, but this domain is not registered with the JA Domain licensing system, I just checked in JA Domain search system.

    What action can JA take on this? Ilegal usage of JA template on site, Unethical rebranding of JA Template.

    Contact them AGAIN saying they’ve broken yet another rule.
    But initially, ask them where their source for the template is, this way you can track them down.

    “Hi there JD admin person, can I just ask, where you got your templates from? Oh really? Well, the one your using is ILLEGAL. So flipping take it off your website before I get your site shut down. And if I ever see a JA template on any of your sites again, I shall be sueing you for the costs.”

    Or something along those lines…. lol

    Can’t be that many, seeing as it was released just recently, and was called the “1st May 09” template and May just started!

    Just like I’m pretty sure that the “best templates ever” review on the VirtueMart Extension listings are from the site owner or one of his partners. Talk about a lack of integrity.

    They’ve also taken JA Purity and renamed it to “JD Blade” and combined with VirtueMart and selling it off for $10.

    Is re-selling JA Purity (or even VirtueMart) allowed?

    Think a few things in the code give this away as stolen, for instance:

    <link href="/blade/templates/ja_purity/favicon.ico" rel="shortcut icon" type="image/x-icon" />

    or

    <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://demo.joomladump.com/blade/templates/ja_purity/css/template.css" type="text/css" />

    There’s more too. Has Hung actually replied in this thread and is he aware? If not, can a mod ensure that JA are aware of this theft please?

    drardvinc (sorry if that spelling is wrong) is aware and has contacted them and they have removed Zeolite.

    Did not know about JA Purity is stolen too….. tried calling up again, but the guy wont pick up the phone. May be will try from office landline tomorrow and ask them about JA Purity >> JD Blade transformation.

    Hung has been briefed about the joomladump.com and this thread too. He is thinking of taking some action about the same, lets see what happens.

    Pity them, they can’t even steal properly how are they going to provide support? Steal support from JA forums?
