June 11, 2008 at 7:32 pm #129584im constructing my site using the ja teline II template and was wondering what extension i should use.
im adding a page to my site called editorials. i want to give my site users the ability to comment on editorials I post.
im new to joomla and pretty much anything dealing with web design or construction.
hoping someone can start me in the right direction.

June 11, 2008 at 8:42 pm #253127my problem with these comment modules is that if I link them to a section and category…
when i post a comment, they are put into a new article under the same section and category.
ja news then adds them as a article on the page in question.
how do I stop this?

June 11, 2008 at 8:48 pm #253131This is explained in the native 1.5 module i posted before.
“You may try (test) to add comments in the frontend – these new comments will appear in the “Latest News” module. If this is not what you want:
in Administrator interface go to the “Extensions->Module manager”->”Latest News” module and set “SectionID” parameter to “1” (filter the list: “1” is ID of the “News” section). – So comments won’t appear in the list of the “Latest News” any more “point 4. on their homepage

June 11, 2008 at 9:08 pm #253139well, still not working.
lets say you link the comment module to world section and the category europe.
thats what i did anyway…
by going to the latest module and entering the section id for world or category id for europe, im still stuck with the comment being fed in to world news and europe page.
maybe im doing something wrong…

June 11, 2008 at 9:14 pm #253141Did you follow the instructions and made a new section and catogory for the comments to go in to?
Point it to the section you made for the comments and they will go in there and not the article where the are placing a comment on:
http://yurivolkov.com/Joomla/yvComment/images/pluginparms001.png
bottom line would be that the comments will be placed in a different section than the article they are commenting on.
