November 23, 2010 at 6:35 pm #363941I am here looking for the same solution. How is this set-up without doing the QuickStart install?

Create a menu item for the blog and note the id number of the menu, then open the template manager and in the parameters column under default layout overwrite you must enter id#=blog. For example if the id of your blog menu is 44 then enter 44=blog.

November 24, 2010 at 11:43 am #364115Hello everyone,
I think this is a beautiful community!
Rusty320, Thanks for sharing the solution!
I attach a file to seek clarification on how to obtain the configurations indicated:
1: How do I match the two formats?
2: The main title on a colored background?
3: Module with thumbnail images in articles?
Mine is a menu item: Category K2
Sule template settings I set the id of the menu item configuration layout to replace “141 = blog”
I have studied the tutorial on how to set the page “Latest ITEM” as the demo site … But how can I create this page called “Blog Layout” as the demo site?thanks a lot in advance!
Good day and good work!_Marco_

=> You are mentioning to the blog layout, to take a look similar that, you only access the template configuration and use the override blog Layout function2) You create a custom module and put your text into its content, and put “_about” into the Module Suffix Class Parameter
3) we use html code and custom module to render that block, these code is here:
<div class=”ja-gallery clearfix”>
<div class=”ja-thumb”><img src=”images/stories/demo/gallery/image-1.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”Sample image” /></div>
<div class=”ja-thumb last”><img class=”last-image” src=”images/stories/demo/gallery/image-2.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”Sample image” /></div>
<div class=”ja-thumb”><img src=”images/stories/demo/gallery/image-3.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”Sample image” /></div>
<div class=”ja-thumb last”><img class=”last-image” src=”images/stories/demo/gallery/image-4.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”Sample image” /></div>
</div>
February 1, 2011 at 11:19 pm #374795As far as I can see, this (i.e. the page layout override) doesn’t appear on the 1.6 template – there seems to be nowhere to override the layout – or am I being thick and missing something?

February 8, 2011 at 5:02 am #375501@jassy Yes Mate, currently the blog layout feature is not implemented on the joomla 1.6
March 1, 2011 at 12:56 am #378952@tienhc, thanks, but when I look at the demo of the 1.6 ores template, the blog layout looks, well, pretty! like the 1.5 blog layout with the nice large date on the right. How would I get that same look on a 1.6 site of my own? Thanks.

March 2, 2011 at 2:18 am #379177ok mate, the blog layout is implemented, please access that menu, and then Select Menu Type is “Categpry Blog” , The best way, you get a quickstart package again, then install it on your localhost to view data sample of article and configuration of the menu.
March 2, 2011 at 9:56 am #379267Hi tienhc, thanks for the update. I dit try the quickstart but it doesn’t look like it has been changed since 28 January. I also checked in the com_content folder and none of the php files (e.g. blog_item.php) seem to split up the date into day, month year (in the way that the 1.5 template does).
Perhaps the files haven’t been updated? :((
