Hi,
I’m trying to change the blog featured background color from white to transparent. It said it’s .blog-featured, but when I tried to go in to custom.css to edit it, the color doesn’t change. I’m not sure if the html I’m using is incorrect or if I’m editing it in the wrong place. I would also like to edit the padding px, but doesn’t know where to edit that either. Also I’m wondering how do I add a gold border around all the modules while leaving the background color inside transparent? Please help thanks.

December 27, 2012 at 5:20 pm #477652Can you provide the url of the site you’re working on?
Also, it would be helpful if you wold set “Optimize CSS” to “No” within your Template Manager–General settingsDecember 27, 2012 at 5:28 pm #477653The url is masqrray.com. Username is demo and password is demo123
I don’t see the option Optimize CSS. This is what I see

December 27, 2012 at 5:59 pm #477661With regard to the background issue, have you looked into the following? . . .
Within file path –> /templates/ja_mero/css/themes/custom/k2.css
at line 2231 . . .
#k2Container {
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #FFFFFF
padding-top: 20px;
}This would seem the CSS rule governing the background color/property for the blog items (which are governed via K2)
You should also be able to play around with the padding property – as well as add a “border” property – within this same CSS ruleHope that helps – Let me know if you need any additional assistance.
😎
December 27, 2012 at 6:14 pm #477663Hi,
I didn’t see custom/k2.css so I went into ks.css and also custom.css to edit it, but didn’t see any changes

That is very odd … because I utilized Firebug to find the relative CSS rule (and path), and this is what came up –> /templates/ja_mero/css/themes/custom/k2.css
Are you certain you looked into the correct complete file path identified?
I’ve never known Firebug to insert/create or identify a non-existent file folder/path for a given CSS rule identification.

Do you ever use an HTML editor – such as Notepad++ or another – to view/edit CSS?
Personally, I find using the Joomla editor somewhat limiting – as it appears may be occurring here.
