You are using the image in a table not article intro image option of Joomla.
Kindly upload the intro image in the article and add a read more button after your intro text so it will appear fine.

Hi
Add below code in custom.css file to increase the width of leading items

@media screen and (min-width: 992px)
{
.items-leading .item-ct {
    width: 100%;
}}

in IE it will be same when you use the css (turn off development mode).
