Hey, I don’t know if this is fair to Joomlart, but I figure I would ask.

Question 1: ) Can we have both a Dark and a Light variation for each Template?

I just did a site based on Portfolio, with a chocolate brown background. The consensus is that it looks great. But it seemed to take a lot of hours to switch all the text, links, etc. to light, and many of the backgrounds to transparent.

I know it would be more work for JA, but a few hours by a very skilled practitioner during the template creation might save thousands of hours by the community in trying to adapt the template to the opposite shade.

Maybe it was just my ignorance, that I should have started with another (darker) template, then tried to add the Profiles/Layouts and modules from Porfolio, but that seemed even harder at the time, although, in retrospect, probably easier. Or, I guess I could have maybe borrowed the CSS files from another template.

Question 2) Is there any tutorial on “mashing up” templates? I am sure that there are pieces of the needed information in other places, but it would be really great to see a video maybe like “What if I want to take one of the color schemes from Droid and apply it to Portfolio?”…or maybe some other examples.

    Thanks!

    Hello !

Your question seems to be issues relating how to customize templates.
    1) Please take a overview on the T3 frameworks about all concepts: please checkout in here http://wiki.joomlart.com/wiki/JA_T3_Framework_2/Guides
    2) You should use some browser supporting tools for development such as: in the firefox having firebug addon, webdevelopers addon etc
