December 18, 2008 at 2:45 am #136325Ok — This has been driving me crazy about 2 hours now. I know it has to be something simple I’m just overlooking.
I have a 4 block setup just like the demo. My problem is no matter what order I put the section numbers in the Category (Section) ID parameters they always show up the same. Ie.. I have 4 sections A – B – C – D in the site they always show up as
A B
C DI would like them to show up like :
B A
D CI’ve even tried going into section manager and moving the order around and still nothing.
What am I missing here? How do I control what order they show up in?nefar Friendnefar

Yes, I know you can move and drag boxes around but this does not change the order for visitors coming to site.

December 18, 2008 at 7:19 pm #283409Aren’t they taken from the order you enter them in the ‘Category (Section) ID’ list in the Module Manager?
EDIT: OOPS! Just read your post again.
Hmm changing that order works for me. Did you move/drag yours around already? If you did then your browser will be taking your preference from a cookie and NOT as you set them in the order.
Clear your cookies and reload the page, this should put them in the order they are in in the ‘Category (Section) ID’ list.

December 18, 2008 at 9:23 pm #283417Yep, it was the cookie. LoL I can’t believe I missed that. Very Annoying for developing, now I need to delete that cookie everytime I make a front page change to see what a new visitor will see ;(
Thanks for the catch that was driving me crazy.

Ever hear of Google Chromes ‘Incognito Mode’? You can browse the web without saving browsing history, temp internet files, or cookies.
You can get it for firefox here… http://lifehacker.com/software/privacy/download-of-the-day-stealther-firefox-extension-174752.php
Just press CTRL+SHIFT+S when you want to visit a page as if you were never there before.
