It looks like joomlart is bridging their site with a VB, has anyone done this on their own site? What bridge is used?

I’d love to do something like this with my own site.

Ok, JoomlArt uses their own custom made vBulletin bridge which is not available commercially.

You can however bridge other products such as Simple Machines Forum into your site very easily, such as my website http://www.miccas.net

I wish they would make that bridge available commercially. I have recently installed SMF and bridged it, and while it definately works good, let’s be honest, its not as nice as VB or even IPB.

    Hi downsouth,
Our forum is an integration of Joomla Vbu Amember and we have developed quite a lot of custom codes rather than a bridge. It’s is a pity but I think our solution will not solve your problem

I’m currently using IPB, I’ve recently installed SMF. It’s an ok board, the integration with Joomla is really amazing. It’s pretty cool for a user to go to my main page and see their avatar and be notified of new posts, new pm’s, etc.. I just dont know if SMF is good enough for my site. I’m also not sure how secure it is compared to IPB. Plus, I’m hosted by Invision, so I know if anything ever goes wrong with my board they will be on it. (They have helped me alot in the past) Support is the best I’ve had in 10 years online.

So I’m kinda in a catch 22. I dont really know what to do.
