Hi folks, as some of you have reported there is a problem with transparent menus like the pic below where the background colour fades out as you move away from the top left corner.

This bug is only a problem in Internet Explorer and only in some releases of Internet Explorer. It can be fine in one version of IE7 and not work in another version of IE7.

The problem is the 1x1px semi-transparent .png that JA use to create the effect.

FIX: To fix the problem find the .png in your templates images folder, usually called trans-bg.png and with your favourite image editor resize it to 10x10px. Save and overwrite the original one and it will fix the problem.

Maybe JA could update the .png’s in the next mass template upgrade??

EDIT: I should point out that technically the bug is in IE7 and not a fault in the template! Sorry JA :-[

Wow – how did you ever make this discovery? I just upsized the background image and it works – menu looks ok in IE7 now.

Any idea why IE is balking at a 1×1 image, but not a 10×10 image?

For the tip, I have notified JA Developer of this thread and hope to hear from him asap. Lets see when they can incorporate the same in the affected templates.
