November 2, 2008 at 9:59 am #135001Hi
I tried to add a Menu Link (Alias) item in Main Menu and got following message:
Warning: Missing argument 1 for JMenu::getInstance(), called in <templates dir>ja_irisja_menusBase.class.php on line 143 and defined in <server dir>librariesjoomlaapplicationmenu.php on line 82
Fatal error: Call to a member function getItem() on a non-object in <templates dir>ja_irisja_menusBase.class.php on line 144
I opened file ja_menus/Base.class.php, went to line 143 and replace current code:
$menu = &JMenu::getInstance();
with
$menu = &JSite::getMenu();It fixed the error message but link won’t work…. Please help!!
PS. I also tried menulink on JA Pyrite and JA_SanidineII_Light. They didn’t show the error message, but link to wrong items (with wrong Itemid)

November 6, 2008 at 4:09 am #278224Well, it was a error in menu system. Guy from Joomlart have fixed it for me. He said they will update it soon.
Praise for their premium support ^^
November 20, 2008 at 3:00 am #279719I had the same problem with Avian II. How do I correct it? Is the update available already.

November 20, 2008 at 9:31 am #279752They updated the file system in JA Trona. But I don’t know they revised the older templates yet. You can try to replace all the .php files under ja_menus with the files in JA Trona (backup first! of course)
BTW, I don’t think they fixed all the problem. It’s fine if I set menulink to article, but I still got error message when I set menulink to section. I haven’t got time to do more test or report the issue tho. Hopefully they already fix it by now.

December 8, 2008 at 2:30 am #281695Hi briany and wklai !
This problem is updated in all templates , Please redownload template package , get base.class.php file (in templates//ja_menus folder) from it and overwrite to old file.December 12, 2008 at 2:09 am #282500But looking at the download for Avian II, the date and version seems unchanged from the last I downloaded, which is ver 1.5 – :confused:

December 12, 2008 at 6:48 am #282529Hi wklai !
The date is “Date Added” it isn’t date updated. the version is version of joomla , please redownload it and you will see that it has updated.February 6, 2009 at 10:47 am #289890Have patched the file. Although no more warning messages, the links are not working when coming from home (front) page. The breadcrumb is also not updated.
I am sticking to using Articles layout instead of Menulink for now.
