In ja-slideshow: when your text is around 3-4 lines:

PROBLEM:

1. In IE:
The text is truncated and un-readable (see attachment: IE1.JPG for reference)

2. In FF:
The text is normal, but it changes paragraph too early (see attachment FF1.JPG for reference)

Admin PLEASE FIX. This is main slide-show and it is unacceptable to have bug like this.

Quang, my site is still in localhost. I haven’t uploaded. But you can see from joomlart demo site. The demo has problem too.

http://template15.joomlart.com/ja_ruby/

Refresh the page until slideshow JA-Opal shows up. You can see that the text is truncated.

Do you mean you cannot see: http://template15.joomlart.com/ja_ruby/ ?
This is the demo site from the publisher itself with JA Ruby theme. I am in USA and I can access the site.

@quang268 – open up the JA Ruby demo site in either IE8 or IE 8 in ‘compatibility’ mode. You will see that Bigbulus is right and the slideshow text description is truncated.

This is a bug in the template that has already been reported twice in two separate threads.

The JA team ask for bug reports but then ignore them – weird.

I am having this problem as well. The text is truncated in the slideshow when using IE. Firefox and Safari appears to be OK.

Please take a look at http://fieldstone2.jasdemoweb.com with Internet Explorer and it should be obvious. Can we get Joomlart to fix this? Or at least acknowledge the issue……

Edited: I’ve changed the code as outlined in the post below, so the URL will not show the problem anymore.

Well, it looks like this may have some effect on it. In /templates/ja_ruby/css there is a file called ie.php. Near the top of that file you can change the width of ja-slide-desc

For my site, I changed it from:

#ja-slideshow .maskDesc .ja-slide-desc {
width: 97%;
}

to

#ja-slideshow .maskDesc .ja-slide-desc {
width: 93%;
}

I don’t know if this is the best way to do it, but this seems to have fixed the problem for me. You may have to play with the percentage a bit to fix your site.

As always, your mileage may vary. Make backups, etc….

ANOTHER PROBLEM:

Let’s take a look at slakkie site since he has it online. I have same problem too.

Go to: http://fieldstone2.jasdemoweb.com/

In the slideshow detail description:

In IE: it can maximize the width of the page to display the description.
In FF: there are more spaces, but FF put a break earlier and put the remaining description in the next line.

To understand better, open the images attached and you can see the difference. This is totally bug! Please fix..
