March 26, 2009 at 12:11 pm #298194just add <meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=EmulateIE7″/> in your template before the head-tag and all will be fine….
it’s not a real solution, just something temporary until the code for the template is completely rewritten to work with IE 8, but this temporary solution works for all JA-templates

Why are you still asking for a solution? Did you try the META tag referenced by folkbear? Was that unsuccessful?
April 9, 2009 at 11:35 am #300689Hi all,
That was successful for me but that’s only a workaround, not a solution.
IE8 FINAL is available for some tme now… Any real solution ?Thanks a lot

April 9, 2009 at 12:44 pm #300695Same opinion like guillaume14! The workaround works… 😉 But is this really a solution…?
best regards!

Guillaume</blockquote>Well, if it works, don’t you consider that a solution?
Personally I would rather add a simple tag than waste the time to figure out IE8’s quirks. I’m tired of Microsoft not playing ball. Every other browser follows web standards, why can’t they? What a joke.
IE8 should have been made to follow web standards and if some sites were made with certain IE 6 or 7 functionality, then THOSE sites should have to add a tag to throw IE into version 6 or 7 mode.
I agree it’s stupid and we shouldn’t have to do it… but given the choice between adding one tag and learning a new set of browser hacks, I’ll add the meta tag and have a site that works. I’m tired of wasting time on Microsoft’s broken browsers, and that is a solution, at least for me.

Are you sure you haven’t changed anything else?
Is it just IE8 that was effected?
