Inside the megamenu panel if you put at any extra class of menu item the class ”disabled” then you cant change it again. The menu item is there on the menu but you cant change it again (size,class etc). Try it.

I just checked again in my local site but I can still change the class. It would be best if you PM me URL and admin login info your site, I will take a look at this.
