    Hi,

    I’m using the JAT3 1.3.0 Beta and I’ve noticed that unless I clean the cache, my site upon hitting reload in FF and/or IE will not refresh.

    Once I clean cache then it refreshes fine, but only once. Then it is stuck there, until I clean the cache once more.

    Having to clean cache everytime, every minute, in order to keep the site fresh is not a workable situation.

    Thank you

    Hi,
    What happens if you do not clean cache?
    Thanks

    If I don’t clean the template’s cache, the site will not update when the browser is refreshed.

    I have been refreshing it continuously right now for the past 30 minutes or so, I have even cleaned the browser’s cache (Firefox 7.0.1) and still the site will not update. It will only update when the template’s cache is cleared in Joomla’s Admin.

    Why is this???

    Do you mean that your site content is always updated and you have to clean cache frequently to get changes in front-end? If so, there is no problem here, T3 caches your site to be static html files, means it doesn’t need to exclude code to render layout every time someone visits your site, it helps the site load faster.

    Thanks

    Exactly.

    Ok, that is fine to make the site load faster, I understand this. However, today I go to check on my site and noticed it’s still reading the same info as yesterday, which means there are no changes in the frontend. Unless I go clear the cache manually.

    Is there an automatic clearing of this template cache sometime?

    There should be a setting of expired time of cache in T3 configuration page which you could set it to clear cache each X hours. But this seems to not be available now, I still don’t know how is the default interval set as default, I will try checking the code to help you decrease the time, also will check with our developers to improve this.
    Thanks

    Thank you very much, please keep me posted on this. It would be great to somehow set it for an automatic clean every-so-often x amount of time.

    This would be great, but make sure it does not conflict with other things. Thx.

    Just trying to be helpful here can you try by upgrading the JA T3 plugin ? Because i think that this problem has already been solved on the latest version of JA T3 plugin for J.1.7.x

    Ok, thank you for your post, I upgraded to the latest plugin version but I don’t see any change. It still only refreshes when cache is cleared.

    I have latest ja t3 . but as davidrabinov said, I have the same problem . every time I create a new article I have to clear cache. as some one said befor its just a click . but when we enter new articles we have to do so many clicks. so if one click is less it would be better. and what if there is frontend publisher.

    and I think if JA can make frame work such as T3 , then its should be able to implement such a basic thig (for php programers) . and I dont think that in other sites they have some in duty to clear cache each hour.

    And another point. I have investigated so many big famous news sites. and the thing I noticed is that they have much much less css, js files. so their sites are not heavy and slow as teline iv.

    for an exaple take a look at aljazeera.net/english . they have every feature that a news site should have. and much more than telinee. but I can see only few css and js files. same thing in gurdian and new york time.

    in teline JA TAB is functioning with lots a whole css with hundreds of line. ja bulletin have dozens of php and css file with hundreds of line. so there is some thing wrong in JA templates.

    @davidrabinov
    Hi, by logic cache remove just by clean up /cache dir. So there are no conflict ;).
    But yes, by logic we don’t need to do that, Joomla already handled it. Once again would you mind help me by check again to make sure in each module you don’t set your own caching interval value
    @issay:
    As personal, yes Teline so heavy 😐

    Thank you

    This is exactly my point. Well said!

    I agree and I don’t understand why the developers have not implemented some sort of auto clearing of cache…:confused:

    This is a problem for us, we can’t be clicking the “clear cache” button all day long, everytime we make an update so our readers can read fresh material. We update our site massively, our site changes completely everyday and this issue is making our work harder.

    @ the developers of JA please find a solution to this or we are going to find it hard to continue using your templates. 🙁
