August 17, 2008 at 3:17 am #265632I don’t follow your ideea.
If you don’t need meta for articles, just some keywords for the site, why do you need some 3rd party thing to do it while Joomla already has a place for this?
The title says “can anyone recomment an seo component for my site ” and in your post you talk about meta?
Man I’m confused.Anyway, to give you the answer for both needs, go for sh404SEF

August 17, 2008 at 3:52 am #265644why bother, search engines ignore the keyword tag and have for years. so many people spammed them that they just gave up on them.
put your keywords in your page title, the description tag, a H1 heading at the top of each article
as for entering these things into your site
every article needs its own titles and meta tags, duplicates will get you penalties.
SEO is not as simple as you think, do it wrong and it will hurt your site….no… do it wrong and call me to fix it
use sh404SEF or Artio
the built in SEF button in the global config is not SEO, it just search engine friendly URLs. thats all it does
also, I have it all working on godaddy, they have their own syntax and I figured it out.
you need to also have a 301 redirect too, or your going to get a site duplication penalty from google, and that requires accessing the .htaccess file.

August 17, 2008 at 4:10 am #265650yup, I use that and artio and a modified htaccess file.
the program in your link will generate the metas dynamically from the page content. It will show you what the search engines see on your site. Once you see what it does, it will force you to write your content correctly for the search engines.
still, bear in mind, the keywords are ignored by the SE”s, but…if used wrong, they will be used against you.
