Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I can implement shopping cart on JA Methys? I am creating a site for a client with JA Methys and want to add shopping cart on it. If not, can anyone suggest the suitable template please.
Thanks

Standalone extensions can be added to any joomla site,
JA methys doesnot come with any special style for any shoppping cart.. however, being a native template..
it will support any standard extension by default.June 5, 2011 at 11:26 am #394750@kshama_k 244656 wrote:
hi

June 5, 2011 at 11:44 pm #394802Well, the go-to shopping cart extension for Joomla sites is VirtueMart –> http://virtuemart.net/
It’s the cart used in most Joomla templates/sites up until just recently (where some clubs are utilizing the K2 Cart (though I’m personally not crazy about the K2 Cart at the moment … it’s a personal choice). You simply download the VirtueMart component from here –> http://virtuemart.net/downloads and install it like you would any component.
ALSO, there are quite a number of extensions specifically available for VirtueMart – including many custom themes. You can check most of them out via the VirtueMart Extension Directory –> http://extensions.virtuemart.net/
One of my personal favorites are the custom themes available via Powered By VirtueMart –> http://www.poweredbyvirtuemart.com/
Also, as a club member, if you see a particular theme/styling within a previously released JoomlART template (such as Zeolite II or Mesolite II), you can also copy/paste the theme files from those templates and overwrite the base/core out-of-the-box theme that comes with the base VirtueMart extension (which isn’t very visually appealing). QUICK TIP: The “Powered By VirtueMart” website (link provided above) has a video tutorial on how to install a new VirtueMart theme within the virtuemart component files. SEE HERE –> http://www.poweredbyvirtuemart.com/Installation-Instructions/Video-Installation-Guide.html
That method will work for ANY virtuemart based theme files – including those used with JoomlART templates.
Lastly, here is a link to a site with several tutorials for using VirtueMart –> http://www.joomlademo.com/virtuemart/
Hope that helps.
