October 8, 2008 at 11:14 pm #274321Hi
I’m afraid you have to bite the bullet to find out, as it is still a release candidate there may well be problems. The only way to find out for sure is to take it for a test drive.

October 9, 2008 at 3:08 am #274348portalro;84579Can I update the Community Builder to release 1.2 RC3 without problems?
I have contacted with Community Builder to get the latest version 1.2 RC3 and do the testing, however, I have not got their replies so far.
We have done the testing with 1.3RC2 and everything seem run smoothly.

October 9, 2008 at 3:51 am #274364the newer RC versions are not stable yet, that is why they are called RC.
if they integrated those version, many of the members of the ja community would blame ja for their failures and bugs and expect ja to fix them. what a landmine that integration would have been from a customer service point of view. I think JA made the right decision to integrate the version they did.

It works with with Joomla 1.5.7-Teline II v1.6, so I see no problem with other stable tables of Joomlart. The latest captcha also works. Apparently, they have solved the bugs of the previous Rc version.
I have tried it with several of my with Joomla 1.5.7-Teline II sites, and no problem so far, in relation to the registration-login component. I have not tried the other features, yet.
The one that you have to be concerned with is that the early version of a Joomlart template is usually a beta. If you are not experienced with scripting, you may want to wait using a new template, until most of the bugs have been resolved.
That is true with the Joomla 1.5.x-Teline II, it was introduced in April 2008, but it had some very difficult bugs. I felt comfortable implementing it in my sites only just last July, when many of he bugs have been resolved There are still some bugs, like the time is not working proberly, but the bugs are not fatal.

CB 1.2 RC3 is more stable than v1.1. The Reason why Joomlapolis don’t bring it out as stable version is to attract the people to join the payment subscription service. I’m a subscribed member so i could test the RC Versions very intensively and there are hardly no bugs in RC3 (and only a few in RC2). CB v1.1 has more bugs, also the circumstancy that it is called “stable”.
In my opinion JA Sanidine comes a little bit to early, because Joomlart has to chose Joomla 1.0.x Community Components. It would be better if Joomlart had been using CB 1.2 stable (which will be free) and Agora Forum which is better than Fireboard (faster, more options, active development) and more important there is a Joomla 1.5 native version out there. But JA Sanidine is a good template, really good designed 🙂

October 9, 2008 at 9:34 am #274409I find my localhost site running this template to be about 30 % slower .My other localhost sites running Rutile etc are running so much faster .
Is this because of the “legacy mode ” ?

October 31, 2008 at 12:43 am #277572I have been testing Joomla 1.5 and CB 1.2 sm3 and Sanidine.
Of course the major issue is that the template and quickstart are not really configured correctly in that the CB_Login module is not being used. But you can work around this by installing the CB Registration Redirect module that reroutes the core login module requests through CB_Login. Hopefully JA will correct this problem soon.
Otherwise, most things seem to be working fine with Sanidine and CB 1.2 sm3. I have noticed a lot of formatting issues with the Sanidine CB plug-in. For example, in registration there are no icons for require/shown in profile/information and so a mess of text is displayed instead of the icons.
So instead of using the Sanidine plug-in, you should select “Dark” as your user plugin template (in the CB admin user tab). This seems to work fine.If you want to work with CB 1.2 sm3, please also be aware that that CB Gallery has not yet been upgraded. There is a hack workaround documented in the CB forum, but I have not gotten around to trying it out yet.
