Hello! I’m hoping someone can help me integrate the comment button with a different comment engine. I might use jomcomment or k2 comments. Any help would be so great.
Thanks!

March 1, 2011 at 8:15 pm #379135Yes you can but how it would be achieved depends on the comment engin you are using. In most cases you would simply apply the correct class to the button on the new engine you are using. That may or may not (depending on the system used) , mean editing a core file to once you get it working make sure you make notes incase you upgrade and loose your changes.

March 1, 2011 at 8:46 pm #379142Thats incredible news! Thanks so much! is there any chance you could help me with that? I would likely choose to use K2 as it is what I am using to drive all my articles.
Thanks so much for your time – Josh

March 1, 2011 at 9:17 pm #379145I thought JA_Social already had K2 styling or is the button not already styled for K2?
Please post a link to your site (preferably a page with your new comment system on) and an image of which button you would like to use in the comment component.

March 7, 2011 at 4:53 am #379985OK, I guess I am going to need to go ahead with this after all. Can you please take a look at webkinzone.com you can see that the read more button is styled and place where i would like it but now that I have disabled disqus and activated K2 comments, there is no comment button and the placement is off.
I know this isn’t JA responsibility to style my site so I really appreciate any help provided.
Thanks! – Josh

If you could enable a page with the button you want styling enabled I will take a look. I need to see the code fr the button so will need it active.

Yes, please look at this page:
http://www.webkinzone.com/home/Page-48.html3rd item down has Disqus comments enabled so that is how i would like the comment button to work/look but with k2 comments. Also, if the comment count could be added that would be awesome!
thanks again!
March 24, 2011 at 8:51 pm #383142Just a friendly bump 🙂 Any thoughts on this?

March 24, 2011 at 9:18 pm #383146As earlier stated, please enable a page with K2 comments on so I can take a look at how they style their module. I can then show you how to style that button as you require.
March 25, 2011 at 3:39 am #383182ok, here is a link that shows the k2 comments.
http://www.webkinzone.com/Webkinz-Newz-Blue-Chick-Contest.htmlbut i think you want to see this
http://www.webkinzone.com/home/Page-51.htmlthere is an article named “Webkinz Basset Hound – Pet of the Day ”
this one shows the button like i would like but for the k2 comments. Thanks again for all your help!

March 31, 2011 at 8:44 pm #384341Can you post an image showing exactly which bit you mean. From thwe secons page I cannot see a comments button.
March 31, 2011 at 9:29 pm #384349Ok, try this link
http://www.webkinzone.com/Pet-of-the-Day.html
This is how the readmore and comments buttons look when using the disqus comments. This is how I would like it to look using the k2comments that I have enabled for the main articles (see home page)
The main problem I have is that I use sh404sef and disqus doesnt work well as it isnt able to grab the optimized link therefore I dont know what comments are associated to what article.
Thanks again for all your time spent on this request. – Josh
