scotty;122904Ohh! This is much much easier to incorporate! Only involves adding a little JS script, some styling, and changing around the flypage.

I’ve incorporated it into the demo. I’ll style it properly tomorrow.

PS: Puppy is still alive but not looking good. On IV drip and it’s 50:50

I’m surprised the vet didn’t just put him down? Parvo is really bad stuff and gets into the earth, grass of the yard etc here its a quarantine thing and animals are put down to stop the spread

Hope the kids aren’t too upset, must be hard on them

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking, Scotty – WOO HOO !!! 😀

My only suggestion might be to keep the basic product detail display as it is within in the flypage, and allow for at least one of the tabs to be used for entry of custom information – like more in depth product specs of something.

And I’m sure with your styling as a starting point, it will be an awesome addition for all to the this or any other VirtueMart utilized template. (Assuming you’re going to share the upgrade markup with us, that is).

THANK YOU !!

tcraw1010;122920and allow for at least one of the tabs to be used for entry of custom information – like more in depth product specs of something.
Adding more tabs is very easy but because the tab content is ‘automatic’ (ie. comes from VM) it is not possible to add custom data. You would need to write an extra section into VM. At the moment you have ….Product Description.
Product Image
Product Availability
Product Reviews
Product Manufacturer
Product Type
Product Order (& Attributes)
If you know of a mod that adds an extra Field like a ‘Technical spec’ mod or something then let me know and I’ll add it to the tabs. I know there is one for additional images so there should be one for tech specs.

Yes I’ll post instructions & download here for everyone (or a new thread in the ‘release’ forum.

No they don’t put them down here once your willing to pay for the treatment . Haven’t heard yet how she is this morning so fingers crossed. Yea the kids will be devastated if she doesn’t make it! It’s their first dog and they only have here 4 weeks. We got a crate from a friend who works in the local animal rescue center as part of her toilet training and we reckon the virus came from that. Apparently even car tyres can carry it! and it’s very strong againt disinfection. Only chlorine will kill it.

Fingers crossed!

I just mean that the basic product description content can be left alone (to display as it normally does in VirtueMart) under the title of the product, but to have (for example) the first tab open to enter more detailed information should the store owner want – similar to http://www.netshops.com/sporting-goods/fitness/rowing-machines/lifespanrw1000rowingmachine.cfm

Does that make sense?

Yea see the first part of my post above for details. You can have tabs that either show VM generated data (description, availability, reviews, etc) or you can have tabs that YOU code into the product description like we were doing with JA tabs.

Anyone can do the JA tabs method once the option to publish plugins in content is enabled in VM backend and you have JA Tabs (or similar) installed on yoru site.

The ‘built-into-flypage’ method is method used on that link you sent me and it’s the one currently on my demo site.

You could incorpoate BOTH methods and for the JA tabs you could have the tabs to the left of the content. The difficult part here would be getting it all to look right. A horizontal and vertical tabs menu would be very difficult to style so that it wouldn’t look ‘icky’

Anyway I have added some styling… let me know what you think.

That’s looking good . . . . a couple of observations:

When I click the “Ask A Question,” tab, the entire page shifts to the left a bit.
Not sure why this is occurring.

Also, is there any way to style it so that when a tab is selected, the “bottom border” of the tab appears as part of the pane
– i.e. no bottom border to the tab? (does that make sense?)

I’ve worse news…. it doesn’t work at all in IE7 :eek::eek::eek:

Back to the drawing board!

Fixed in IE.

tcraw1010;123066When I click the “Ask A Question,” tab, the entire page shifts to the left a bit.
Not sure why this is occurring.
I was getting that but thought I fixed it. I’m not getting it here but I’ll try it at a lower res.

Yes I had thought about the but it will mean removing the slight shadow from around the border…

Will adjust later.

An example of tabs within tabs here (not styled!)

When I click the “Ask A Question,” tab, the entire page shifts to the left a bit.
Not sure why this is occurring.

I can’t replicate this. Does it happen on all products? if not can you post a link to product it does happen on. If so can you post a non resized screen shot please?

Refresh your cache to pls (shitf and F5 when your on the page)

Here is the product page the “shift” is happening (with the “Ask A Question” tab) on my computer – using FireFox browser –> http://www.my-test-site.info/virtuetabs/index.php?page=shop.product_details&product_id=28&flypage=flypage.tpl&pop=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=71&vmcchk=1&Itemid=71

Hmm not happening on mine. Does yours look like this?

The problem before was the width of the text boxes but I made them narrower so the shift wouldn’t happen. Also… what screen res are you running? Does the whole page shift or just the tabs area?

#300335

the whole page . . . my current res is 1600 x 1200 (I like it sharp and detailed) 😉

fabiomartelli;123158Hi, great job! May i ask two question? I’ve seen your job and i don’t understand two thing:
1- are u using ja-tabs or other plugin?
I’m using a small javascript. I tried using JA Tabs but there are problems hard coding it into the flypage. The JA Tabs can be used inside the product description without problems though.

The VM form shop.ask.tpl.php

how do you insert the ask question form directly into flypage?

Open shop.ask.tpl.php and copy the form to your flypage.
