I want to adjust megamenu to have certain amount of sub items in each column, but can not do that, can you please help?
For example I want to have 2 sub items in each column, how can I do that?

Have you investigated the properties “Columns” and “Groups” for each Menu Item? (in the “Paramters (JA Extended)” section)
I’m not sure if you’ve done this already, but try using those two features to break up your menu items according to the Joomla menu item hierarchy.
For example, at your top level menu you can give it a set number of columns (e.g. 4)
At each next level of the menu (whether link, Text Separator, or other), you can give it a different number of columns. At these sub-levels, you might need to set the property Group = True.
