Well I hope I can get someone to help. I have downloaded the JATeline IV quickstart package and tried to install it but I simply can not install the sample data. Installing without the sample data is fine but then that is not what the quickstart package is about!

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi

Why you cannot install the sample data ?

    Which errors you receive ?

But when I refresh the page it takes me to the beginning of the installation process. I can not quote the exact message now as I did not save it but I hope I am understood!

You are sure that your folder where you are trying to install the template was empty ?

If the installation find something on that folder for example a configuration.php file then it doesn’t works

Try to do in this way

    1) Clean your installation folder completely
    2) Download again the Ja_Teline_IV quickstart package
    3) Make a new Database
    4) Copy again all quickstart package files
    5) Start a new installation

In this way you are sure that everything goes in the right way – also because i have made hundreds of installations of this package on my localhost and customers sites and never i have found an error like this. So i’m absolutely sure that the quickstart works fine.

I also find this strange as I have installed a number of joomla sites before without encountering this problem. I will try to install JATellineIII instead and see what happens!

    What is wrong?

I don’t think this is related to errors in joomlart file but to your server php configuration, check all the directive that has releated to the timeout

    for example — max_execution_time — exit_on_timeout — realpath_cache_size

<blockquote>as I have installed a number of joomla sites before without encountering this problem</blockquote>

Check the server configuration for these and find what you have different now because i’m sure that the solution to your issue is to find there

But when I proceed with the installation and go to the joomla admin I do not see these articles.

Alternatively, is there a way of circumventing this? I am quite sure it is not my server php configuration. I just installed several quickstart packages from Gavick.com (which are much “heavier” than yours) and I never experienced any timeout!

I don’t know what you mean exactly you can do an import from tables directly on your new db

As i said before i have done hundreds of installations always without any problem

<em>@pavit 310469 wrote:</em><blockquote>You can try to do also in this way maybe you can find the problem</blockquote>Well I have been able to install the package on the localhost (MAMP). So it looks like you are right with the php server configuration thing. Let me work out how I can recreate the site on the remote server. I will keep you updated.

    Thanks!

I think you can check the configuration of mamp and ask to your hosting provider to set the php directive in the correct way for a joomla site that’s all

Yes, I will do that. Sorry for sounding a bit harsh in the beginning. I have dealt with many other unserious template providers and lost a good deal of cash to a point that I had lost my trust. I appreciate your quick response to my questions!

    No problem

I will be glad if you can solve your issue and have your site installed and working as expected, because Joomlart templates are really an excellent ( in my opinion the best ) product and was a pity when sometimes them were penalized by a wrong server configuration.
