    Hi,

My son and I have a few sites up working fine with earlier versions of Joomla and other companys’ templates. We recently decided to switch to JA,starting the 1.5 compatible version of Joomla.

The new site (URL above) was operating fine. Joomla 1.5.2 installed fine. An iJoomlamagazine template installed fine. A BASIC install of JA Dravity template indicated a correct install (without pictures and other sample data), but we don’t know if it otherwise failed.

Our question is: We want to install the Dravity template onto this EXISTING site BUT including the JA-provided sample data so that the site will look just like the demo site with all data, modules, components, etc. Can that be done, and if so, how?

Or, do we have to start completely from scratch (similar to the way described in Quick Start).

[As you will see from the URL failure note, when we tried to add the SAMPLE data to what appeared to be a working site, we lost all connections to the EXISTING database.

Thanks for any help you can give. This is an important site for us with a tight deadline and we would like to start using JA templates.

    Hi jmcdonald80 !
There is a easy way for do it :
    – You install quickstart package in local then export database of it
    – On database manager of live site you import obove database ( which is exported in local) when your live site will have sample data same demo.
    – On the live site you only install dravity template .
Note : Don’t forget backup database if you site .

Thanks for the quick reply. Two things:
    1. we found out why the site was lost…just a changed password problem.
    2. On your suggestion, are you saying that the above procedure works when imported into an EXISTING database with existing templates, etc. without problem. Or, do you have to do what you said only by starting from scratch with a brand new database??

Thanks for anything anyone can add…
