    Hi –

I want to be able to allow my authors to go wild with their content pages and format them however they like – This however causes trouble for me with the Opal ‘Category Blog’ view picks up the first few lines of text….

With different sizes, colors, etc, – the blog layout page soon looks ridiculous…..

So my Q is – Is there anyway to take the first few lines of text as Opal does already but to strip off all the formatting so that all pages would look the same until you actually get down to the actual article display?????

Thanks so much – If this one can be solved I will be all 😀

    Hi there,
If you supply me with a url i can have a better look than at the gif file attachment you sent.

I am thinking this is either in the css file or the template settings. Should be easy to fix, but I need a better look to see what you’re talking about.

    Bye!

Thanks Billyk – The issue is frustrating me!

Here’s a URL – http://www.caymanactive.com/sports/rugby – Take a look at the Women’s Rugby bit – The line that says ‘Why should boys have all the fun’

I’ve already manually reduced the font size a bit – but what I’d like is for my authors to have freedom to go wild in their articles (she originally had this HUGE and Blue too!) – and at the same time I’d like this category blog layout to ‘standardise’ everything down to the same font size / colour / etc. (I think I’m right in saying default Joomla does this – and it’s an Opal template issue – otherwise perhaps I shouldn’t be posting here!!!!!!)

Am I making sense? Any ideas?!?!

    yes, I understand, I think…

Best to give your users a tutorial and show them how to use the WYSIWYG editor. Personally, I love the JCE Editor. It’s a commercial component, but so worth it. Tell your users to use the built-in styling that comes with the template, i.e.: the drop downs for heading styles, etc. See the circled content in the graphic below:

OK Thanks Billyk – I was hoping to have an automated solution to avoid forcing me to educate my users into certain good habits which I know 50% of them won’t adhere to – but that may be the way I need to go…. Cheers.
