If you bother to read my responses, at all, you would not even bother to repeat yourself with these suggestions:
@instantinlaw 23451 wrote:
You are making this far harder on yourself than you need to make it.
Upload all the files in the quickstart package to the root via ftp, and install the included version of Joomla the same way you have always done it, via the browser.

I already posted that I uploaded the Quick Start alone and renamed it so that is a directory, what is your point of repeating your incorrecct advice here? Wasn’t it obvious that I already did all that when I revealed that both fresh install of Joomla alone and the Iperiiti Quick Start and separately and that they both work — that I already know how to perform correctly what you are telling me to do?
You are becoming condescending, and you need not respond to my posts if you take that tone. If you and bigkk are so sure of your expertise — can either of you tell me why a fresh install of the Teline Quick Start alone did not work?
I already found the answer but I had to do it by trial and error — because, while your first response led me to the correct direction none of your general suggestion helped because they are not the cause of the problem.
@instantinlaw 23451 wrote:

You should also delete all tables in your database first if you are going to re-use it.
You are probably getting the permission error because you have not set the permissions on the folder you are trying to install Joomla from. If 755 does not work, try 777.
You will have far fewer problems setting up, and configuring Joomla if you run it from the root instead of from a folder.
Have I not already stated in previous posts that I was doing a fresh install and one with its own separate database? Why suggest even changing permissions and all that, if I already stated that both the separate Joomla install and the separate Iperiiti installs (using Quick Start) in both cases worked.
From the aforementioned information, already state previously, one who use simple deductive reasoning would realize that none of your suggestions above will solve the problem and it lies elsewhere. If I followed your suggestions blindly like a clueless person, I would still be scratching my head now.
So could either of you really tell me what caused the problem?
I resent both your condescending replies. And, it is unbecoming for a Moderator to take that tone. If you cannot be civil to people who you consider as stupid, please ignore my posts.A simple response from MiCCAS without being judgemental about my capabilities helped lead me to the correct path, but he himself did not diagnose the problem correctly because he might not have encountered it.
Thanks.

August 4, 2007 at 4:58 am #226306You don’t want to listen when someone tells you the answer to your questions. I already answered this question.
Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /toti00/installation/index.php on this server.It means that the correct permissions are not set on the files you are trying to access.
I know that you are not going to listen to me when I tell you again what the problem is, but instead of getting on your high horse, and demanding answers to questions that you should know the answers to, why don’t you listen to the answers you’ve already gotten, and learn from them.

August 6, 2007 at 5:19 am #226448Apparerently, with the volume of posts on this subject, the installation guide for Teline Quickstart is, at best, mediocre.
I have installed countless Joomla sites, but I am having problem here as well. I ham getting error 403 Forbidden – even when CMOD at 777.
Joomlart must come up with clear-cut guides because there is a problem here affecting both experienced and inexperienced users. We are not paying for bad support.
I need to get this going; let’s cut the crap and solve all the problems. We are not dumb. It just doesn’t work as it should.
