can you use 2 templates for one site ?

yes you can.
In backend (/administrator) go to site/Template Magager/site templates.
Mark “the other” template you want to use. Choose Assign (next to Default in topright corner)
In the list of your menuitems, mark on wich you vant to use the other template.
Voila!
