I have added my own favicon to almost every folder in the template installation but still all I can see is the Joomla default icon.
Please don’t say press control + F5, I have been doing this for about 2 months now..
PLease someone tell what folder I am missing.:((
    Thanks in advance.
    John.

Is your file for the favicon favicon.ico ? With these templates the favicon.ico file goes in the /templates folder. Let me know what the URL is and I’ll see what it looks like for me.

You might need to clear your browser cache too.

Hi Cheryl, I uploaded my original favicon.ico that has been working for about 8 years on my old static html4 site.
I have uploaded it into all folders possible in the templat directory.
    My site is: http://www.djohnwoodwatercolourpaintings.co.uk
I cannot get the favicon.ico to show in any browsers, that’s strange, but true, just the good old Joomla one.

CRAZY… I just loaded Google Chrome and guess what the correct favicon is showing, it is blue with the letters JW.
It just loaded for me in Apple Safari (Windows)
Maybe the problem is solved, maybe not, still nothing with the others…

Thanks for your time Cheryl, it seems to be just cache with the other browsers.
    Take care.

I have also stressed about this in the past but as long as you add the favicon to the right folder it will appear within a few hours, on all browsers.

It is working now. I see the faviocon in firefox. i usually do a search and replace all favicon icon with mine and then use the ctrl+ F5 to reload the site or empty cache and cookies on a spare browser and it works.

I would like to thank all of you for keeping my Control F5 keys going, it worked, except for IE8 which still remains stuborn.
    No surprise there…
I did wonder if my hosting was to blame, with the cache I mean!
Never mind thanks again and you all take care,
    John.
