Hello wkennedy,

I cannot change the logo type to image on JA Trona…
The admin panel shows that the files are writeable, but whenever I try to change, it reverts to text.

I have never encountered this problem.
If /templates/ja_trona/params.ini is writable you should be able to edit the template parameters using the Template Manager.

There is also a message on the Menu Assignment
Menus: Cannot assign default template.

It’s a standard message which I think, just means that The default template is assigned to all Joomla pages and you can’t assign another one to pages or menu item.
Your main problem is to get the template’s parameters editable.
Can you set another template as Default and edit it?
If yes, just uninstall the Trona template (just the template) from the manager. Delete via FTP the trona subdirectory in case it’s still in the /templates directory. Reinstall Trona template.
If not, you may post here the errormessage.
Good luck.
