I am trying to replace the default teline logo to my owsn on my site. ~I have installed the new template and configured most of my modules to match the teline layout. i ven managed to set up my own profile already. but then i tried to replace the default logo.png file for my own logo. as soon as i save it to the images directory it seems to be replaced with your default image all over again — its spooky. i mean i ftp the png file for my logo and then as soon as i try to view the file in the new location it seems to change back to the default teline file i just deleted. can you explain how to fix this?

January 4, 2011 at 9:49 pm #370080Which colour variation are you using and did you clear the JAT3 Cache?
Take a look in templates>ja_teline_iv>core>themes
In there you will see the different colour options. In each there is an images folder containig different logo.png files for different colours. You will need to change the logos for any different profiles you may be using.
If you still struggle then please post a link to your site (via PM if you do not want it public) and I can tell you exactly which file to change but please make sure you turn off css compression/join in the templates control panel first.
January 5, 2011 at 9:50 am #370207Well, there is only one directory holding the telin 4 template in my templates folder. And within it there is only one sub directory containing images. There are no directories within the Teline 4 folder that seem to segregate any of the colour variants. You can see my dev site at http://83.223.125.228/~mnk3/
As you can see I am also having problems getting the mega menu to work at all. It either displays no drop downs or displays them statically with all sub categories displayed. My first impression is that the template is good, but the docs let it down. The module position map is outdated as the names in the documentation site do not match those of the template for instance. Instructions for the slider and tab functions are somewhere I am sure but I cannot find them. If you have urls for these please let me know.
thanks!

January 5, 2011 at 10:09 am #370212Did you not see the core>themes folder I mention above?
If you wish to PM me an admin logon + ftp details and your logo I will change it for you.
January 5, 2011 at 11:58 am #370239Thanks Phil, found it. It’s official, I’m a dope for not finding it in the first place. I’ve used lots of joomlashack templates in the past so this is a bit of a steep learning curver for me but very rewarding. I think this template will be wonderful for our site. Any ideas on how to sort out the mainmenu? I have gone all through the steps in the template mgr, as well as the mainmenu module in module mgr and of course organising things in the menu mgr. But I still get the mess you can see on the page linked above. Any ideas?

January 5, 2011 at 12:03 pm #370245It’s OK, many people are struggling to find the logo and you are right, JA need to document it better. JA are currently in the process of looking at all the docs so rest assured you are being listened too.
As for your menu I can see it is a mess. I am happy to look at your back end if you wish or you could install the quickstart on your localhost and compare how things should be setup.
January 5, 2011 at 12:25 pm #370254Thankas Phil. I never know if it is the docs or just my wee brain not wired properly to find what I’m looking for. Yes, please any quicklhelp to get me sorted on the menu would be appreciated. I have pm’d you admin access. Could you then tell me what I did wrong? I also notgice on the news pro and news modules that if i select specific joomla sections or categories from which to pull stories, the page renders blank. Also cannot seem to get the news ticker to find anything. I am digging around in the docs but I think I am doing things properly. Also, has anyone tested this template in j1.6 yet?
thanks!

January 5, 2011 at 12:34 pm #370256For J1.6 some code changes are required so a different version will be released when J1.6 goes stable. Hopefully migrating from J1.5 to J1.6 will be less of a mammoth task than J1.0 to J1.5 was.
January 5, 2011 at 1:48 pm #370262I think I have exhausted all the possible combinations of settings to resolve the top-level issues I am having:
1. Cannot get the main menu to display properly as a mega menu. everything seems installed properly and settings likewise. Yet it still will not display correctly.
2. Cannot get an ything to display in the news headlines module.
3. Cannot get news box to slide multiple stories, nor can i get it and the news pro modules to display different articles even if i ask one or the other to ignore front page articles.I can deal with the little alignment issues and prolly sort out the tab module with some fooling around time.
Any help you can provide, or light to shed, on the issues above is most appreciated. I feel like I have twiddled with every possible setting in every possible combo of plugins, modules, etc.

January 7, 2011 at 2:25 am #370576Hi guys,
Your menu problems are from your menu config. May be menu items is grouped,
Please goto top menu items >> JA Extended Block>> and set Group is No.
Hope that helps
January 10, 2011 at 10:59 am #371115I have done this and after a full day of trying each vairiable one at a time I have managed to create one structured drop down form themain menu like your demo, using my cupboards menu. but I cannot get the module function to work. I want a column in the droip down to hold either the latest news, ja bulletin, phoca gallery image, or random image modules. I have followed your instructions to the letter but nothing seems to work. The closest I got was to have the drop down menu display the headline of the third column but with no content displayed beneath it. If I mouse over the headline text a popup sub menu appears replicating the column headline twoce but again no content beneath it. This was using the latest news module. Oh, and this display in the drop down only appeared when actually in the section (cupboards) and not on any other page of the site. I want the drop down to always display all the columns upon mouseover, just like your demo.

February 3, 2011 at 9:49 am #374931You can put whatever you want. If you know how to embed .swf files then it should be simple. If not then I am sure someone over at joomlancers.com would be able to do the job for you.
