When I try to save (or apply or preview) changes to content, such as a News Item, nothing happens, except an “error on page” message in the lower left hand corner. I haven’t changed the .php files at all. The error message reads:
Line 2528, Character 3 Error: This.contentWindow.document is null or not an object.

I am editing an existing item, i.e. Example News Item 1

Hi Karl,
Do you edit the news inside your administrator panel or in the front-end? Could you provide your live site url and a test account which could edit the content?

Also let us know which editor you are using and which version of Joomla you are using. The more information you provide the easier to find the solution. 🙂

I am trying to edit the content from the Administrator panel. I am using the Joomla 1.0.12-Stable version.

Have you by any chance install your Joomla using cPanel? I had the same problem and ended up installing fresh installation not using cPanel that worked fine for me on the same server. Had the same problem as you when using IE7 and many weird errors when using Opera.
